Half life ins. Payment

Child died and company offered life ins. Company approached me re: this when I had no thought about this. I completed the types, posted a death cert. And was given half. Another half was on her dead beat dad that has had no-contact along with her (or me) for more than 40 years but he's qualified? He'd not really be familiar with this until Prudential found him; they'd the nerve to consult me and that I stated I'd no idea. How could it be that the guardian that has no participation within their adult-child for more than 40 years is entitled to this? Think about the kid help I never obtained those years back? As well as, I had been the main one who offered the data for that death certification and outlined him in being sincere. I ought to have remaining it empty!
