LifeMed.com, Clinicel.com Ripoff, Fraud, Misrepresentation, Faulty Products

I purchased the system a couple of weeks ago and have been using it for less than 10 days when I noticed it was leaking from the edges. I attempted to return it to the store, but was told it had to be returned to the manufacturer.

I called the phone number that came with the product, but they stated that they did not sell that particular product. (lifemed.com)
I contacted Clinicel.com and they wrote back to me stating:

We are sorry to hear of the failure of your Clinicel cushion. We do not have any record of your purchase and, based on your description, we conclude that this particular cushion was manufactured and sold by Life Medical Sciences (LMS). LMS originally sold the Clinicel products in 1998-99.in we obtained the license to sell Clinicel and we made several changes including improving the cushion to prevent the tear you have experienced. There are some inferior copies of our product out there.

In your case, the cushion was made and sold by the predecessor company U.S. Biomedical has a comprehensive warrantee policy and we always stand behind our products. The product you have, that failed, is not our product. We share only the name with the previous Clinicel products. I don't know how else to explain this.

I do know that there are many of the previous products available through eBay and overstock and the like. Because we use the previous name "Clinicel, " we frequently have people trying to make warrantee claims on products that are not ours. I was interested in helping you treat your scar, and that is the only reason I offered a discount, not because we have any responsibility for the predecessor company or their products.

After having someone research the company it was discovered that both are owned by the same person and it appears as if you try to get the product replaced under either company they boot you back to the other and state not my problem or fault.

I had orinally requested only a replacement for the faulty product, but not only has it destroyed my clothing, but whatever was in the package has removed some of my skin from my hand where it was placed. I want to warn others before purchasing the product that this compnay won't even stand behind their product.
