Jodene Sanchez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance

Two residents have pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to buying methamphetamine and re-selling the drug in the city in early 2008.

Michael Wisely, 25, and co-defendant Jodeene Roach, also known as Jodene Sanchez, appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Richard H. Battey.

Wisely pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of a controlled substance. He was originally charged with one count of conspiracy and two counts of distribution.

Roach / Sanchez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. According to a news release, Roach was buying methamphetamine and selling it out of her home.

She faces a minimum sentence of five years in prison with a maximum sentence of 40 years.

Wisely faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Sentencing for Wisely and Roach / Sanxhez was set for Oct. 14. Both are in U.S. Marshals' custody.

Editor's note: The U.S. District Court generally prosecutes felonies committed on reservations, while tribal courts handle misdemeanor crimes. All charges carry the possibility of fines up to $250,000 upon conviction unless otherwise noted.
