Short term disability denied after 2 partial mastectomies

I signed for insurance on June5 through work. The policy became effective july1 I saw my physician on june 14 with right breast tenderness. I was sent for mammogram and ultra sound on June 18. I returnt to my doctor on June 24. I was told he was not a breast specialist and was referred to a specialist surgeon appointment July 9. The specialist told me I had cyst but nothing to worry about to follow up with a mammo in a year. He said the pain was not my breast but was shoulder and upper arm and set me up with a consult with an Orthopedic surgeon. I felt something was wrong and set up an appointment with another specialist who is head over a cancer center. I saw him on July 14 and was told I had severe fibroid disease in both breast and needed 2 partial mastectomies. He set my surgery up as urgent and surgery was performed July 22. Now Colonial says because I had a mammo in June. I am not eligible for payment. Even though all the doctors I saw in before July 1st had totally misdiagnosed the health issue. I would not advise anyone to seek insurance with these leeches. They take your money with no intentions on even paying any claim. I could have listened and waited a year and had to have 2 total mastectomies or even worse had it spread further. They don't care about their clients except to take your money and if something happens they don't care because they don't intend to pay. This is a company whose name I knew and thats why I accepted the insurance, people beware it's not worth the high premiums to have them deny you.
