Phoenix Magazine Today
Misleading - Top Doctors in Arizona 2010

Health & Medicine

Phoenix Magazine Today just released the Top Doctors in Arizona 2010. All readers need to be aware that this is NOT based upon patient opinions at all, but entirely is a popularity contest among the doctors. They request to be included on the ballet and get their peers to vote for them and in return they vote for that peer. Whoever obtains the most votes is listed as the top doctor in his/her specialty. It has nothing to do with having proper licenses, years of service, the number of complaints against the doctor, and so on. This listing does nothing to assist the patient. According to their website "The physicians are selected through a peer-review survey. The theory is that medical professionals are best qualified to judge medical professionals. Patients generally lack the medical expertise to judge a doctors qualifications." Patients beware!
