Decision Point Treatment Center
Expensive, ineffective, dangerous not using evidence based science

Health & Medicine

I agree with the report from Kennymac, Denver, Colorado. My son was a client there for 9 months. For the most part the staff are sincere, albeit somewhat dysfunctional since many are in recovery themselves and practice treatment models are not evidenced based. Much was based on Pia Melody's principles that drug addiction is always a result of trauma, which they define as "anything less than nurturing". It all seemed very cult like to me. The bottom line is that my son "graduated" even though the staff informed me that he would probably use soon once he was out! Well there was no transition. He went right to an apartment, probably the one that was mentioned, and started using. We visited him often in Prescott. The city is swarming with many young people struggling with drug issues. Finally my son decided on his own that he had enough and came back home. I was always told that would be a bad idea, but so far so good. Think twice, and do some research before sending anyone to this very expensive place.
