The Dentist was very rude and demeaning in how he spoke to me

Health & Medicine

I went in on Monday November 2, due to a painful tooth. I was grateful for them fitting me in on such short notice but when I left that office I was anything BUT grateful! For starters I thought that the tooth would just need a filling, but I was informed that the tooth was not going to be able to be saved - it would need pulled. So that upset me and made me start to cry, because I am losing alot of my back molars. But instead of showing concern or comfort when he came back into the room and seen my crying, he says..."well maybe you should just go home and come back another day!" In a tone that I found very 'snotty'. And then he began to ask me why it was that my teeth were in this shape I BEGAN to explain..." Well, I know I drink too much pop, but I brush my teeth twice a day..." and I wasn't even finished with that sentence, and he was rolling his eyes as I said that and as if he didn't believe me, and then just walked behind me and didn't even care that I was still speaking! Plus when he was explaining to me why it was that the tooth needed pulled, he was talking in a very demeaning tone, like that I should have known because of the type of pain I was having that it was too far gone... Even though I am NOT a dentist. I cried all the way home because I have NEVER had a dentist or any PROFESSIONAL for that matter ever treat me so rudely or made me feel like I was a trashy person, just because my teeth have some issues. And to top it all off, while I was in the dentist chair waiting for the numbing medication to kick in, I could hear him tending to the gentleman next to me in another chair, And NOT ONCE did he speak to that man rudely or demeaning... And he even told the man To have a great day and to make sure to come back... NEITHER of which was said to me at the end of my visit. Yes, I know I was crying about losing a tooth, but does that mean I do not deserve good customer service??? And deserve to be spoken DOWN to? I will NEVER go to that office again or REFER him to anyone!!
