Natra Pure, Myfitnesshub.com
And Others Deceptive Business Practices, Deceptive Commercial Advertising

Health & Medicine

Nature of Complaint: Deceptive Business Practices, Deceptive Commercial Advertising; Violation of federal and state laws including California Business & Professions Code Section 17000.

Facts: In June, from California, I responded to an offer for product by Natra Pure, a company situated in Sandy, Utah. Their website is http://natrapure.Us/. From that page in the upper right-hand corner, there is a link titled Click Here to Find Out More to learn more about the product, which links to this page: https://www.safetrialoffers.com/natrapure/ld/? AffID=108&subaffID=

I scrolled down the linked page to the 30 day sample offer shown on the right panel, completed the information and order on the next page.

That page also lists Special Bonuses Included, none of which I wanted. All I wanted was to investigate the nutritional product Natra Pure.

I received the nutritional product on June 18. Upon reading the ingredients, I found it contained a substance with I cannot ingest. I called the phone provided in the packing slip for the company: 877-350-8480. After negotiating with the person handling the call, I was able to effect a cancellation. They provided me with cancellation number CMO1288812.

On July 9, my credit card was billed $39.95. Upon inquiry, I determined it was for a membership in myfitnesshub.com. I called the phone number appearing for that company on my credit card statement. They advised I had purchased a membership with them at the time of my purchase of Natra Pure. I explained to them I had not purchased any such membership, did not want any such membership, was not interested in any such membership and requested they immediately credit my credit card the full amount of the charge.

At that point, I was referred over to a customer service supervisor. At some point after waiting for several minutes, the call disconnected.

I have reported this matter to my credit card issuing bank as a fraud, which has now required that card be cancelled and a replaced, and that I now have to submit fraud paperwork to the credit card company. All of this, because I ordered a sample of a product that was apparently tied into some other marketing scheme associated with myfitnessclub.com.

Numerous complaints from various states have been filed against this company, as evidenced at the following website address:

/Supplemental-Health-Programs/Extreme-AcaiBerry/extreme-acaiberry-online-healt-5DZE5.htm

This company operates under different names, with all calls coming into a central telemarketing location, offering various products cross-marketed with other programs through various websites.in the majority of complaints viewed online, most address the issue of undisclosed terms of the offer, "fine print", deceptive billing and business practices, and being enrolled in some monthly program of which the consumer was completely unaware.

This company is operating under different names, from different states, offering various nutritional supplements which are then part of a covert offer that automatically enrolls someone into some program which bills separately and must be canceled separately, none of which is adequately disclosed. If the offers were adequately disclosed, there would not be the hundreds of complaints posted online to consumers all over the country. The deception is clear.
