Charged almost $350 for 10 twice interrupted, minutes of her time

The story is long and I have told it numerous times to numerous people. I can not tell the whole story here, now, but maybe saying this much will provide someone else with information that I did not have.

Cancer is a very scary subject. The last thing a cancer patient needs is to be treated poorly by his/her treatment team.

Without going into details, I was charged almost $350 for a 10 minute appointment during which the doctor left the exam room twice to take personal phone calls. She then told me that she only handles "bad" cancers and referred me to another doctor.

All patients, but especially cancer patients, deserve their doctor's undivided attention and sensitivity in their care. I can't say that I know anything about the Albuquerque facility, but the Ruidoso facility offers neither undivided attention nor sensitivity of care.

To cancer patients and those who love them: Please be vigilant and uncompromising in your expectation of superior care. Make no exceptions.
