At The Beach Tanning
VERY deceptive practices

This is definitely the most deceptive and shady company I have ever dealt with.

I signed a contract for a year of tanning, and I really got taken.

The sales person said I could change my membership at any time as long as I stayed a member for the length of the contract.

I have recently started photo sensitizing medication and am unable to tan. At the Beach's new sunless tanning spray makes me break out in hives. I called the location on Broadway to find out if I would be able to cancel my contract, and the girl on the phone told me I could get a note from my doctor and call the corporate office.

I scheduled an appointment and went to see the doctor, who wrote me a note explaining my situation. I called At the Beach's corporate office and was told there is absolutely no way out of my contract, and she basically said they're not responsible for the words that come out of their employees' mouths.

I asked her if I could change my membership so I would not be paying $60 a month for something I can't even use... Thinking maybe I could pick the lowest membership. She said that is not allowed, either.

If you look at the BBB's rating of this company, they're rated as "unsatisfactory." I mentioned this to the lady, and she agreed that it says a lot about their company but said there's nothing she could do.

This company is terribly deceptive and their staff members will tell you anything just to get you to join.
