Unprofessional treatment from inexperienced dentist

Several years ago while on family vacation at the Jersey shore I suffered from a toothache. Since I was in so much pain, I wanted a dentist I trusted to help me. My dentist at the time, Dr. Scherrer, was also on vacation. His answering service recommended I see Dr. Stephen J. Tsoucaris who was seeing Dr. Scherrer's patients while Dr. Scherrer was on vacation. Since I trusted Dr. Scherrer and anyone he recommended, I called Dr. Tsoucaris' office. I explained that it was an emergency and that I would be driving up from the Jersey shore. The receptionist there informed that Dr. Tsoucaris was available to see me that day. I was sure to confirm that it would in fact be Dr. Tsoucaris who would provide me care before I left for the two hour drive up north, in pain. When I arrived, I was told that Dr. Tsoucaris had an emergency and another doctor would have to see me. I was upset but thought I was dealing with a professional facility and had faith that this doctor would be able to help me. From the onset of the examination, I felt as if I was in the hands of an inexperienced doctor. She was a young woman, pleasant enough, but had an accent and I don't think she understood what I was explaining to her. Twice she began to work on the wrong tooth and I had to redirect her. She had gloves on her hands that were twice the size of her hands and this made for very flimisical work on her part in my mouth. I wanted to get up and walk out, but I didn't want to insult the young woman. I left there still in pain with the problem unsolved and feeling very abused - taken advantage of to be quite frank. Honestly I don't recall what I did about my tooth after that. I probably saw another dentist but can't recall who or when. However, I do recall calling Dr. Tscouris several times to describe my experience. He never returned my call. Next I wrote a letter to him, which I am now trying to locate, and still no reply. Several years go by and this doctor files a lawsuit against me. Writing this complaint is my first step toward taking action. I would've had no problem paying for the doctors services had I been treated by the doctor I expected to see and if the problem had actually been resolved.
