My mother received horrible care

After she had surgery for fractured hip in '07, my mom went to Manor Care for rehab. They initiallly put her on their nursing home area, as they didn't have the bed they said they would in rehab. It took several days to get this worked out... Food in bureau drawers... Dirty conditions, furniture cheap, old and scratched up.

When we got to "rehab"... So much was wrong... Here are highlights:
pneumonia was diagnosed 4 days before treatment began

Pain pills were not given in a timely fashion

She got serious "bed sores"

The staffing was awful. Not nearly enough to provide care. The cultural divide between immigrant LPNs and elderly Americans was striking

I spoke with an attorney. He told me Manor Care has protected themselves with high paid lawyers. I would need some "expert witnesses... Long story short, I reported these incompetent, money-centered "pe
ople" to medicare who investigated my complaints. Manor Care was given some slaps on their hands.
BOTTOM LINE - don't let loved ones go to this place!
