Overcharge for its BAD service

BAD Service: My son Andrew Ni went to West Houston Medical Center to take a X-ray for his small finger on 12/5, West Houston Medical Center did not send the x-ray result to my son's doctor until I 12/13. This delay results his delayed treatment.

Ridiculous Overcharge: Before the xRay was taken, I asked the estimate price, but they refused to tell me. A few days later, I got the first bill of $20.80 (for the charge exceeds Max Allowed by Insurance), I paid it already. Since my insurance company denied the charge, I received another bill of $301.

Actually, The total charge from West Houston Medical Center for small finger x-ray is $351. $301 $20.08 = $321.08 is a discount price.

The price for a small finger x-ray is unreasonable too high, if I was told the price before taken x-ray, I would simply found another place to take the x-ray which charges only $60 - $100. West Houston Medical Center charges me without my knowledge. I refuse to pay the remaining balance of $301.

On 5/6/08, Krystal from West Houston Medical Center called me regarding my balance.

Krystal said: Hospital has right to set up its own price. Yes, you have the right to set up your own price, but patients have right to know the price you set up. Why don't you charge $3000 for this service? At least, you should let patient knows before the service. I even did not get the estimate price. I don't have to do the service at your hospital. There are many other places that I can take x-ray at more reasonable price.

I am fighting for my consumer's right.

P.S. We went to another hospital (near Fry @ I-10) to take finger x-ray again recently, the total charge is $101, and the doctor get the x-ray the next day.
