Medical issue

Lack of communication/information/warning given to patient (minor) or parents of patient before or after surgery regarding extreme swelling to penis caused by dressing being wrapped tight around scrotum following surgical procedure for a hydrocele.

Due to the (unexpected) extreme swelling to the penis, ; patient had to go to the ER. The attending ER doctor stated the dressing was "too tight". The urologist/surgeon who performed the surgery, and wrapped the scrotum too tight and ultimately caused the extreme swelling, did not advise patient to go to the ER or seek treatment for swelling (initially started the day following surgery) when contacted and informed 24 hours prior to ER visit. Patient/parents did not receive a follow up call by urologist/surgeon to discuss reason for ER visit or to check on patient's well being. Nor did he communicate with the parent of the minor at the follow up appointment the next day.

Major lack of communication, professionalism, accountability and empathy displayed by this office, staff, and attending doctor. When parent tried to communicate with the doctor, via phone, he kept trying to discontinue the conversation by stating he could not keep his patients waiting. The doctor was given a message by his front office staff that I was wanting to speak to him regarding my son's visit to the ER prior to our phone conversation, therefore, he should have called when he had the time (end of day) to take the necessary time to speak with me and address my questions and concerns regarding my son.

I will never utilize the services of this office, staff, or medical personnel nor recommend them to family or friends.
