Dentist Dentures VERY BADLY made. $1200 in march. Can't get refund, can't wear dentures

March I paid Dr. Patterson $1200.00 for new set of dentures. I continued to make trip after trip to have them adjusted to my mouth, they never fitted them to me, they just adjusted the way THEY wanted them. I wore them for a week and the bottom plate cracked making them impossible to wear.
On May 24th '08, I mailed him, by UPS to refund my money within 10 days, the letter was signed for on the 27th of May.
I have not heard anything from him. But he owes me $1200.00
