Health & Medicine

I recently discovered I was pregnant, and because I did not have health insurance at the time, I anxiously went online to look for possible health care that would cover pre-existing conditions. I was contacted at 7am the next morning by a very excited and nice man named Kenny, who assured me that he was offering me "actual health insurance" (not a discount plan), and that I could not be turned down or dropped. The cost would be $219.95/month, with a one time fee of $110.00 and it would cover up to 80% of all medical expenses and boasted an excellent dental and vision plan as well. However, it seemed too good to be true because all of the insurance companies I spoke to, turned me down due to my pregnancy. I told Kenny this, and he assured me that this was a legitimate company that just wants to help people in bad situations and that my health and would be completely covered and I didn't have to worry anymore about my pregnancy. I told him I needed to speak to my husband about it first. He proceeded to call me between 7 and 15 times a day for the next 3 days. I stopped answering my phone he was scaring me with his calls! Because of his pushiness, I called my attorney and had him look over the "contract" Kenny had emailed me. The attorney said that the company is not at all "actual health insurance", but that it attempts to link you with a network of insurance companies that do not have to agree to cover any of your bills, and often do not. I went on-line and found 7 complaints about this company, Consumer Alliance, USA and was so grateful to have been able to read their horror stories before giving Kenny my credit card and bank information. He seemed so genuine, and the company seemed like a life saver, that I didn't want to believe that people would actually take such disgusting advantage of people who are in desperate situations. Thanks to the reviews of others, and the information my attorney gave me in regards to the uselessness of this company, I was saved from losing money I don't have. I urge everyone who comes into contact with this company to do your research before giving them your money. It's not actual health care coverage and you will pay out of pocket ontop of your "premiums" each month.
