Dr. Ira Finegold
Of, bad business practices

Health & Medicine

Dr. Ira Finegold of White Plains, New York has a chronic practice of demanding insurance co-payments up front even when they are advised that they are already being paid at the 100% rate.

As a result of a couple of years of this practice, when I recently received a bill for a visit made before I moved to another state I decided to analyze my insurance reimbursement forms going back a few visits and found that just for those he owed me at least $210 and wrote to demand a repayment of the difference. I kindly pointed out that I had not gone very far back and looked forward to a positive response. My insurance coverage stated that when they pay at 100% that no co-payment is due from the patient.

This sassy doctor has refused to get back to me but has now sent me a bill indicating that I am way overdue on paying him. Implication is that he is now tampering with my credit rating. Why are doctors allowed to get away with this kind of nonsense, and I can tell you that Aetna Insurance the provider has shown no interest in helping me get my money back from this provider.

On the contrary their representative Sherry stated that she had sent the doctor some more money.
