Charge for medication not received / harrassment Webster Texas Atlanta

I entered HCA Clear lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas for 24 hours 01. At 2: am I requested an injection of summitripitan succitate (Imitrex) for a migraine headache (I have appox 250 a year so I am well aware when I have one). After waiting for one hour the nurse arrived with the injection, I trained her how to give it and finaly had relief!

12 hours later I was released. I later received a blanket bill and requested one that was itemized. The itemized bill revealed that I was being charged for 3 injections at $333 each (Walgreens price $40 -900% markup) I requested that the mistake be removed and was assured by the billing dept. That it would be. Wrong.

I began receiving bills for the original amount and harrassing phone calls from the Atlanta Georgia office. I then received a document that requested me to sign it and they would review my bill but it gave them the right to change the charges at their descretion.

I am now being harrassed by a collection agency and threatened with a legal judgement. I am now confering with the Texas Medical Complaint Board

Interesting legal comments: If they could prove that they administered the 3 drugs they would be in violation of FDA regulations concerning dosage (1 dose per 12 hours?) If they didnt, where are the drugs? Violation of FDA pharmacy record keeping. Is this how the narcotics make it to the drug addicts on the street?

Moral: If you have to go to the hospital and its name has Regional or HAA associated with it you better find a hospital where they dont have a history of fraud. Look them up on the net and see what our government thinks of them.
