I signed up for a 2 yr membership back in 12/31/1999 with Golds Gym. Golds Gym was charging 24.95 at the time.in March of i still had 8 more mths to go and Golds Gym was making a special offer through my work of 19.95 a mth. I asked them to decrease my amt since they were offering it to my whole company and to make sure it would still end 12/31, which they said they would.

Of course, typical Golds Gym fashion, they re-entered me for another full year! I had a hard enought time getting into the gym, between finding parking & finding exercise equiptment, not to mention dealing w/all the muscle heads & skimpy clad women that walk around the gym giving dirty looks to us "normal" folks. I

Called 12 to end my membership, when I was informed by Angela that my membership was extended to 3/31/02, and i would have to send in a letter 30 days prior to the end of march in order to end my membership. I faxed a letter in the 3/1/02 twice, watched it go through the fax machine twice and figured that I would be all set.

In April, we had 19.95 pulled out of our checking account again. I called & spoke to Kathy @ 888-827-9262 who was very rude & told me that I would be charged for April & that I would have to send another letter since they "did not" receive my fax. So, now they want another letter faxed, but this time they told me make sure I put a note in for thme to call me when they receive it, sounds like they have been through this before... And than my membership will end in May.

Its ridiculous, that after I only signed up for 2 yrs that I can not seem to get out of this gym, 3 yrs later! Do not join Golds Gym, you will never get out of it, their classes are always crowded & its a bunch of muscle heads & skimpy clad 20 year olds. Not for real people.
