Ripoff dishonest mailing and refund ripoff

Three months ago my husband responded to an ad for a dietary supplement called Cardigen - Nature Rx which he ordered by phone on his credit card. He used the product, didn't get any results and discontiuned its use.

Today in the mail he received an additional bottle of this same dietary supplement which he had not ordered. He called an 866 number and was told that, since he had opened it, it was his. He said he would return it and wanted a refund since they had automatically put it on his credit card. He was told it was what he had ordered have done when he ordered the first bottle, he was to get refills. If this was right, why did they wait 90 days to send it as the first bottle has dosage for only 30 days.

The operator said to go ahead and mail it back as he would be charged 50% penalty for returning it whether he ordered it or not. He said he would stop it on his card which she seemed to think was funny until I found out it was on his debit credit card and had been taken straight out of his bank leaving us with no recourse. This was like giving them cash. You are out of the money except for what they want to give you back. Since these people (I use that term loosely) have already gotten his card number, they could do this same thing again or just charge on his card without sending anything.

The strange thing was there was only a catalog and a paper saying it was a MHP shipment with $35.90 charged to your account. Then to the side it had a please send all returns to:
Cardigen - 655 Mulberry Road - Manteno, Il 60950.
There was nothing stating what it was they had shipped to him but they thanked him for his recent order. Which of course he had not.
