I initiated a search for online insurance and received several calls in response. One of them was for Consumers Health Benefits Association. A man named Howard spoke to me and made it sound very worthwhile at only $129.95 premium per month.
I tried it for August & September and needless to say, it covered nothing. I specifically asked if it would cover prescriptions, and he said it would, in three separate tiers; $10, $20 and $40.in those two months, it did not cover any doctor visits or prescriptions.
Besides that, in reading through the packet that they sent me, I learned it was a discount dental plan only, not an insurance plan. It also came with a worthless 'certificate of guarantee' that if you don't save money after 12 months on their plan, they will refund you the $109 enrollment fee. But I can't afford to be on their plan for 12 months. My last words to them when I cancelled was 'It's a rip-off.'
