Ripoff fraudulant contract/billing dates

In Sept. 2004 I joined the healthclub with the agreement of a one year contract with automatic bank draft for fees.

Due to recent medical issues I decided to quit the gym as I was not able to go. When I got my paperwork to see what steps were needed to discontinue the membership, it clearly states that I need to file a termination request in person at the gym and pay a $75 fee.

I did go the first week of May to file my request at which time I was told that ultimately it was the managers decision and that she would contact me as soon as she returned. To this day, after numerous calls and going in person, I have heard nothing. I have even called and emailed the complaint department at corp. Without any return.

Since all of this, I have stopped the draft of my account and in turn have started receiving letters from a collection agency!

At the time I received my letter, I have since found that on my "1year" contract, the dates were made out for 2years, which was not the agreement. Luckily the fool who tried to pull this scam wrote 13mt agreement on the bottom, I guess thinking I wouldnt notice the dates he wrote in.
I am so tired of people trying to rip others off!!!
