A MELBOURNE doctor wrongly prescribed large amounts of painkillers for a patient who later died after an accidental drug overdose, a hearing has been told.
Dr Robert Rustem Molnar also ignored his patient's "drug-seeking behaviour" when writing painkiller prescriptions for her between November and January the Medical Practitioners Board heard.
Dr Rowan Molnar kept on expanding painkiller prescription after some time for his patient notwithstanding her conduct, and neglected to check whether she had admittance to somebody prepared to direct the medications he recommended.
