On 6-9-07 I ordered a custom table pad for the dining room table that I purchased at Penn Furniture. I was told that the table pad would arrive directly from the manufacturer (Ohio Table Pad Company) in approx 10 to 12 weeks.

At 10 weeks, I called the store to check and was told that it was still on order. At 12 weeks, I returned to the store and was told that I misunderstood and ts was 12 to 14 weeks before delivery would occur. The due date was now scheduled for mid-September. I expressed my concern that the store was closing that weekend and I was told by the manager that I could continue to deal with their Port Jefferson location. I began calling the Port Jefferson location at 15 weeks and got absolutely no assistance. I drove to the Port Jefferson location and was told "I'm just a salesman, I can doing nothing to help you. Speak to the manager tomorrow." Of course when I called the next day the manager was reluctant to speak to me and was unable to give me any information.

I called Ohio Table Pad Company directly (which I should have done long age) and they were extremely helpful. They showed the original order being placed in June. However, the order was on hold due to payment never being received by Ohio table Pad Company from Penn Furniture. Penn Furniture charged my credit card and received payment, they just never forwarded the payment to the manufacturer. Ohio Table Pad Company was very accommodating and through their company Guardian Custom Products, will complete my order. The order should be shipped in 2 weeks.

If I had not paid originally with my Amex card I would be out the $271.56 that I had paid Penn Furniture in June. Fortunately, Amex's dispute department is very effective and I will be refunded that amount immediately.
