Poor quality at Ashley Furniture! - Cross Island Table

I purchased a table with a leaf at Ashley Furniture. I bought it on clearance, "as-is", knowing it had a few light scratches. When I returned to pick it up, it seemed to have a few more nicks and dings, as if they knew I already signed the paper work and were careless taking it to the loading area. As we were setting it up at home we noticed how poorly it was constructed. The finish on top is easily scratched and bubbles/flakes up around the edges.in some small spots it is missing stain. The bottom of the table shows the poor quality of craftsmanship and materials. The top was suppose to easily mount onto the base with 4 bolts. The holes did not match up any way it was turned. Because of the poor craftsmanship we had to "jimmy" in the bolts as best as we could make them fit. The most disappointing issue is that the table does not meet the other side, with the leaf in or out! So when we have the leaf out and want the table to be a smaller circle, there is a big gap in the middle. There is the same big gap when the leaf is in the table. I am so very disappointed.

I must say, the show room and salesperson that helped me were both very nice. Unfortunately, the quality of this product had just destroyed Ashley Furniture's reputation for me!
