No Refund on $500 TV Rental Prepaid Over Two Months

My son, a trucker, paid $500 up front to rent a 72' TV, and a week later he found out his employer had been shut down by the DOT and his job was gone. He quickly landed a better-paying job in ND, which meant moving the very next day. I phoned Aaron's and explained that the TV would be coming back well before the next payment came due, since he had prepaid more than 2 months. They flatly refused to return any part of the $500.

This is a rip-off and a scam, and I can only call these people criminals. The store then resold that same TV at the same price, so they were $500 richer and laughing all the way to the bank with my son's money. They constantly take advantage of people who lack the credit to buy elsewhere. How is this company still in business?
