Hp fraud on ink cartridges - hewlet packard

Are people aware that HP is blatantly defrauding people with their replacement ink cartridges? I bought an HP printer last year and when the black ink cartridge ran out, I went to my nearest Office? To buy a replacement.
I thought the price was rather steep (approximately $60USD) but was assured that it was correct. When I got back home, though, I discovered that the cartridge was HALF the size of the original!!! The cartridges had the same ID number (940) but the new one was half the width. And therefore half the ink supply! When I phoned HP "Service" (Hah!) I was told that the problem was not with HP, but with the store!!?? I told the online "service" person, that ALL the stores had the same type of cartridge with the same number - 940, so the problem was with HP, NOT the bloody stores who only sold what HP gave them. He kept insisting that the problem was with the store and put the phone down! What a bloody rip-off!
I will never buy another hp product!
