Template Monster has a sensational selection of all kinds of templates on a site that is wonderfully organized. I've spent over $2000 with them over the past 2 years, and I've had a problem with the performance of several templates, most specifically, phantom files that can't be found to be edited or removed.

All complaints are responded to swiftly and to no avail. Once you buy something from this place, their attitude is pretty clear: "Well, it ain't our fault." You bought a crappy Wordpress 2.3 version, but now only Wordpress 3.0 work? Not our fault. Your programmer is having trouble with the files? You ought to hire better people. My favorite one was a snitty remark I got about an hour ago: "You should probably learn Flash."

Template monster is not an outright scam site. You do get something for the money you pay. It's just a rare moment when you get what you expect. Their image machine is first rate, popping them to the top of their niche in SEO rankings, but their actual products can be found more cheaply if you look harder on other websites, and as for customer service — forget it.

And don't expect for these people to talk to you — they're all non-native English speakers with phony American names. You can tell from the grammatical errors and the vocab usage.

Caveat Emptor, with extra added emphasis on the Caveat!
