Mark Of The Unicorn
Ripoff, sold our client defective equipment and refused to take it back. This manufacturer is not suitable to be selling their clearly inferior products into the professional recording market

On Sept. 9 we ordered for our client (we are pro-audio dealers) some Mark Of The Unicorn units including the HD-192 core, HD-192 expansion card and the Fastlane USB. When the client received the goods he carefully followed instructions and interfaced them to his computer. When they did not work, he called the manufacturer and told them he was having trouble.

After speaking to one technician who told him four or five things to correct the problems that didn't work, he called back the next day and spoke with another technician who told him he had no idea and he thought the items were bad. The client asked the technician if it would be alright to send the items back and received the run-around. This "spooked" the client who then decided he did not want to have anything to do with Mark Of The Unicorn.

When we were contacted as the dealer to help him, we called Mark Of The Unicorn, who then told our sales rep that they WON'T take back anything and it was OUR problem. Well that's extremely odd, since we didn't manufacture these items, THEY did.

We inquired why they were not interested in honoring their warranty and were told: "If your client had purchased these items directly from us, we might consider taking them back". This manufacturer, (in our humble opinion as a twenty-five year old
dealer carrying over 300 lines of merchandise), is not suitable to be selling their clearly inferior products into the professional recording market.
