Maxassure program officemax "maxassure program" is a total ripoff!

In february i purchased a hp model number l 7680 combination color printer/fax/scanner/copier.
The salesman at officemax was very insistent that i purchase a "maxassure" program that he said would replace the printer without any problems if anything went wrong after the initial warranty from hp (one year). Two weeks ago (may) the printer stopped printing in black so i replaced the cartridge with an oem hp 88xl black cartridge. It still wouldn't print so i called the "maxassure" phone number and was put on hold because "they couldn't find my account"

When "maxassure" (which isn't even owned by officemax) got back on the phone they transferred me to their "technical help desk" where a guy helped me try to get the printer to print; when that failed he promised me that "maxassure" would send me a "refurbished" printer from their miami warehouse in "three to five" business days. On the third "business day" i called "maxassure" to verify that they had indeed shipped my refurbished printer and asked for a fedex/ups tracking number.

They put me on hold for about ten minutes and when they got back on the woman said"it will cost too much to send you the printer so we had to send the request to our claims department to see what they will do"
"they will call you in three to five business days."
right then i realized i was being jacked around and asked for their "claims" phone number that the woman would not give to me.

Believe it or not the printer started printing black again on its own so i
stopped going after "maxassure" but let me assure you that if you ever try to get help from "maxassure" they are going to run you around and lie to you and rip you off (they stole $49 from me for their worthless "maxassure" program). Do not get sucked in it is a total ripoff and they do not want to help you, they only want to retain their profits because "maxassure" is basically a ripoff insurance company that onlyrepresents officemax, they could care less about really helping you!
