Parking Lot scam!

My husband was approached in a parking lot coming from the bank by a couple guys. They asked if he wanted to buy a home theater system for cheap and he said no thanks! They proceeded to tell him that it was worth $2200 and that one guys boss gave it to him as a bonus for Christmas. My husband said still said no thanks we don't need it, long story short my husband gave them $175 and was hoping to sell it and make some money! We haven't looked at the product in the box yet, I'm scared to see whats in side now that I know it was all a scam!
