Norway Audio Systems
I was basically taken for a $500 ride for a $50 "home theater system"

Electronics and household app.

Well, unfortunately I found out about this website AFTER I had given two men my hard earned, well saved Christmas money thinking that I was making a good investment. I was in a Royal Farms when a man in a Platinum Audio company red t-shirt walked up to me and asked me if I was interested in buying a home theater system.

He gave me the story of how he got two extra and if he took them back to his office the person who he was delivering them to would just keep the extras, so he wanted to "do me a favor" and hook me up with something that in essence fell off the truck. At first I didn't believe him, but, as everyone else has also mentioned, he was a good salesman.

He showed me a magazine with the Norway system in it for the $3000 retail price and how nice it looked, mentioned that no one had this kind of a steal (Best Buy, etc.) and said that if I should decide, I needed to do it fast, since they had other systems in the truck ready to install with customers that already paid.

I asked him, how much are you talking about? He said, to be fair, I think $500; $200 for me, $200 for my friend, and $100 to set up in a hotel to sell the other "free" system on eBay. So after some quick thought, and actually looking at the system (he opened up a "new" box, took the speakers out, showed me the subwoofer, everything) I decided that maybe it's a good investment.

I've never heard of the brand but that's how things are sold nowadays; Walmart, to Target, to Best Buy all have no name brands in their stores, so I just figured this was one of those. His partner even pulled out his iPhone and showed me his Google results for the brand and said that people online were selling the same systems "used" for a lot more.

Well, to wrap this tragic story up, they followed me to my bank, gave me the system, and made out like bandits with my money. They followed the script TO THE LETTER, even asking me for $50 more for beers! The thing that gets me the most is that I didn't use my intuition AT ALL. I even asked the guys, if you got them for free, why don't you keep them, give them as gifts to people you know, right? I asked them that question twice as a matter of fact. The one guy kind of tiptoed around the question, the other guy gave me some story about already owning a system.

The system works, but it's definitely not worth $500, and it's not a good thing to google this company and the first thing I see is the complaint website. I guess I should be thankful that the subwoofer/system even works; I saw that some people had sand in theirs, and I really feel bad for them. Of course the company doesn't have a phone number you can call.

Oh, well that's another thing; one of the "installers", JUSTIN, actually gave me his cell phone number (443-527-1533) (even had a picture of his girlfriend on his blackberry) so I could call him to get the system installed if I had any issues with setting it up myself. He even told me where he lived, where his mother owned a business, built a rapport with me.

It's kind of embarrassing that I was that dumb and easily persuaded, since normally I analyze the heck out of something that costs me $50 or $100, but for some reason I completely fell for $500 hook, line, and sinker. I hope that others google this company and see this site before they fall for this same thing. Needless to say, I lost a lot of sleep last night.
