Buyer beware, defective & poor quality electronics, stay away, heartless lying employees, owner will take advantage of you, do not buy anything from here! Avoid!

The people at Video Audio Plaza Inc in Los Angeles, Ca are nothing but lying con men. They claim to sell high quality electronics while nowhere inside or out of the store do they let consumers know that what they sell is nothing but poorly refurbished crap! My parents bought a 23' TV for me from them and a Yamaha Keyboard and the salesman never once mentioned they were refurbished. The price was near $400 and he guaranteed they would be satisfied and that they offered a 2 year warranty on the TV and that they could come in ANY time if I had problems with it. The TV worked fine for 1.5 days! That's it! And the keyboard worked for 30 minutes!!! As a college student with no car, living over an hour away from L.A. And 9 hours from my parents, I couldn't easily return the television. I had to wait a couple of months to be able to go back because of my class and work schedule and I was not worried because of the "2 year warranty". Once I was able to go back, the same salesman who had before been super friendly turned into the biggest jerk when we tried to have it exchanged! Once the owner of the store saw that I was trying to exchange it, he became extremely angry and rapidly hid in the store storage room. The salesman then became even angrier at us and told my parents that he had never said they offered a 2 year warranty, just a 3 month exchange period. My mom asked him why he had never made it clear that the TV was not new, and he responded, "Well, you didn't ask"! He then kept insisting that he never told us anything about a 2 year warranty even though he had written it on the receipt himself! But nowhere on the receipt or store was it advertised that the merchandise is refurbished and that there is only a 3 month exchange policy! Overall Video Audio Plaza:

-Sells poor quality refurbished electronics but does not advertise them as refurbished
-Does not offer a 2 year warranty, just a 3 month exchange policy (but I doubt even that's true)
-offer NO money back, ONLY exchange
-Has heartless employees that will say just about anything to get you to buy and spend your hard earned money on poor quality crap!

So please stay away from this store! Tell everyone you know to never shop here again! People like this need to lose profit or even go out of business so that consumers will truly know what they are buying! The owner and employees know right from wrong, know they are selling bad refurbished items yet, they willingly lie about the condition of the items, lie about warranties, lie to make people buy these items to make buyers feel secure about a purchase. Once you pay these people, you will NEVER get your money back!
