Don't stand behind their products!

We made a purchase of two 19 inch curtis tv's in November of 08, when our house burnt, and we had to replace some of the items. We went in and talked to some of the sales people and they assured us that this was a Great Brand and that they had, had no complaints on it.

So my mother-in-law went back and purchased the two 19 inch Curtis tv's that were for our 2 daughters. Since we had no insurance because we were renting the home and had failed to purchase renters insurance yet. These were about the only things that we did buy new. We got them to the other place that we had moved to and hooked them up and they worked fine.

Well, one of the tv's was my oldest daughters and she moved out about a month after that with some friends of hers for college. We let her take the Curtis tv with her.

They had worked fine up until the 1st of May of 09. The Curtis tv that remained here with my youngest daughter, suddenly quit working and would not show a picture or anything, blank black screen.

Then, my oldest daughter that had moved out called me and said that her tv had done exactly the same thing and this was 2 weeks after the other Curtis tv had quit. So I said for her to bring it to me and that I would just take them back to hhgregg together.

I did take them back and told them what happened, this is what they told me... It has been 6 months and they would cover the parts but not the labor to fix the 2 Curtis tv's. Then they went on to tell me that there is a set $59.00 fee for them to asses what is wrong them they were not sure about labor cost.

So it would have cost me $118.00 just for them to tell me what was wrong with them and then they could tell me how much it would cost for labor to fix them. Then the told me that it would probably just be cheaper for me to purchase a new tv.!!!

I quickly told them that there was no way that I would ever purchase anything else from them again... Much less another tv for it to last only 6 months and then have to be replaced again...!!??? No Thank You!!!

Needless to say, I am very upset with the customer service from hhgregg and the way they stand behind there products!!! This is no way to run a buisness... That you want to stay open!!!
