Superior Lamp
Cheeseball sales, high pressure, liars and jerks

Electronics and household app.

I bought lamps in 2006 from a sales rep who impressed me with his honesty and who had a great sense of humor. I was skeptical and he didn't pressure me but called me back after the first call and gave made me a deal I thought was fair. I purchased 12 lamps from him and I put them in my office.

I have a small business and he understood I was only putting lamps in my office. He would call me from time to time and never pressured me but asked how I was doing and checked to see if I needed more lamps.

He was a great guy and his product was great, but very expensive and I didn't want to spend so much in the rest of my facility because my sales people are not supposed to spend much time in their office. Why spend so much money for office lighting that is supposed to be turned off?

A few months ago he called me and told me he was probably going to lose his accounts because he was taking another job. He asked if I needed lamps and I said no. He thanked me for my business and we had a nice chat.

Well, a few days ago I got a phone call from some cheeseball named Brad. He said he was my "lightbulb guy" and that he was sending me a swiss army knife. He was describing it when he said "it even has a toothpick just don't let "... &..." get it from you and use."

I didn't use the names of my employees but obviously Brad had gotten them on the phone before and had their names. My cheeseball meter started going off.

Next, Brad told me he had two boxes of lamps ready to come out to me as we "had discussed" and that he was sending them to me at the 2006 price. He relaly got pushy when I told him I didn't need bulbs and he started saying, "I did just like you asked me and I set these boxes aside for you."

I guess his lie about "just like you asked me" and the swiss army knife were supposed to make me feel bad and accept the lamps.

I actually told Brad I thought he was a cheesey sales rep and he seemed stunned. He then started on some long explanation about something but I hung up on him.

Afterwards, I went through my notes and found the note from when my real rep called me. The lamps were the same price Brad said he was going to give me at the 2006 price. Of course, Brad was trying to get me to believe I was getting the deal of the century.

I decided to call my old rep and ask him some questions. When he called me back I asked him if he knew Superior lamp reps who sold like this. He said that he did, but that he never used those techniques because he was uncomfortable with that style.

I asked him I should complain to someone in the office about the lies and he asked me who it was that called. When I told him it was Brad he said, "don't even bother, the guy's dad is the CEO."

I think I will tell Brad where to shove their swiss army knife next time Brad calls me.
