Scam for money

My mom received this 'official' appearing white notice inside of a white envelope that was perforated on both ends, in the mail today. Thankfully she called me and I googled DMI. The paper asked her to send them $13.78 (odd amount) PLUS $1.00 handling to receive this "free 35mm, focus free camera, including 50mm optical lens, auto film counter, rapid wind film advance with double exposure guard, hot shoe syncronized for electronic flash and carrying strap". Camera is shipped preloaded with your first roll of film.

Obviously this is a scam. So everyone. Especially the elderly and disadvantaged individuals need help so as NOT to be subject to this.

ALSO on the outside of the envelope says, in RED, 'Urgent Notification'. There is also a warning about anyone who interferes with or obstructs delivery of this letter or otherwise violates State Statues 18, United States Code 1702 ET, FEQ, see Title 18, Sec. FEC 1708 United States Code. Theft of United States mail is punishable by fines of up to $2,000 in fines or five years in prison or both.
