We bought a costly stainless kenmore freestanding electric variety a few years back. After only one 1/2 decades the black-top began to weaken and two of the weather corroded and shorted-out (twice with shoots!). We've needed to substitute all writers twice today... A couple weeks before while washing the leading of the stove door my hand was almost amputated because of the fringe of the stainless round the screen. Additionally about 2 weeks before after I visited start the stove door, the whole door experience aside, glass separating in the body, etc... Fortunately no body was injured because event. Fast-forward, Christmas 08, adolescent children house alone and cooking (18 & 19) and again a burner starts sparking and attracts flame, they attempt to turn off the burner however the whole range went insane and also the cleansing program started in, securing the doorway and warming up rapidly! They'd enough feeling to operate towards the breaker and closed it off... Today nothing operates about the range... Atleast I dont' need to be worried about my grandchildren losing their fingertips anymore!!!
