Gem Monitor fraudulent rebate rip-off scam

On 11-29-02 I purchased a 15" gem tft computer monitor from fry's electronics of burbank, california.

The purchase was made largely on the attractiveness of a promised $70.00 plus a $10.00 add on rebate
i also purchased a"iogear" usb micro hub with a $9.00 mail-in rebate.

On 12-11-02 with the help of a professional lady i submitted the requisite rebate forms, upc code/original and the store original receipt to Promotion #100 for the $70.00 rebate and promotion # 117 for the $10.00 rebate. Both rebate applications were mailed by usps to: 938 radecki court - city of industry, ca
91748.

On 2-13-03 irequested rebate status at wwwpanacer.com as indicated on the rebate application form with confusing results prompting me to telephone the vendor who provided me a telephone number and i called that number and was greeted by a very rude, abrupt, arrogant male voice which informed me that

A. His computer data bank displayed no evidence of a rebate application paid or pending in my name strangely that was a relief because i was sure a rebate check had been riped of at my domicile quite likely under color of law or other radical organization known to be working the area, however the irritated voice on the telephone did grant the dispensation that if the vendor gave me certified copies of all of the requisite documents he might reconsider the application for rebate.

The vendor however informed that such a request was absurd, unreal and hardly befitting anybody but a functional illiterate at which point i folded my tent cured forever of rebate mania and indeed corporations offering rebate inducements.
