Dell sells know defective laptops and refuses to repair without charging large sum. Austin Texas

Dell sold me a laptop that cost $500 before adding all the extras. Once I purchased all the extras it cost me $1,500. The problem occurs laptop just after the one year warranty is up. The battery stops charging. I have tried to contact Dell regarding this and have had no response in 3 months. The problem happened 3 days before my warranty ended but because they never contacted me it no longer is under warranty. I wen on Dell forum and saw many others with identical problems. I purchased 3 new adapters and 1 new battery and been told (by other customers that were technicians themselves, not Dell). They stated they heard from Dell and they told them it was common for this to happen and that is why people should purchase the extended coverage.

The went on to say if the adapter and battery don't help it is the motherboard at a cost of $300 two-third the cost of the entire system. This doesn't guarantee they won't replace it with another defective motherboard that dies in 1 year. Dell actually admitted to having defective motherboards to this person and have no intention of recalling the laptops and fixing the problem. The look at the purchase of their laptops as a yearly event. I am a special education teacher and know that many schools use Dell in their schools and should be made aware that after 1 year your computers are considered beyond their lifespan and the following year the TAXPAYERS can fork over another hundred grand to new systems.
