Another victim of this Yahoo Small Business with a phony address, boat dock

Ordered a Canon camera from them on June 24.2008. They redeemed the Green Dot Money Pak on June 26. They never responded to phone calls or emails and a Google earth view the the address shows only boat slips.

Since it was a Yahoo small business I cantacted Yahoo and they shut the site down right away (about mid July). Yahoo was the host of the web site and provided their email address and other business support.

I contacted Yahoo Legal department and I was told they would not release information of the owners or the business with out a subpena. They said to contact my local police to get the subpens. The address at Yahoo to mail it is a selection on their phone options.

I conteacted Canon USA and they said that there are a lot of sites selling "Gray Market" cameras at very low prices with no factory warrantee. Gray Market items are intended to be sold in other parts of the world and Canon USA factory will not repair them even for a fee.

Canon recommended making sure the web site had a valid physical address, people that would talk on the phone, and would take a credit card. Also, make sure the warantee is, for example, Canon USA fractory warantee, not a store 90 day labor and 1 year parts.

I have had good results with Abes of Maine, Focus Camera, Beach Camera, Buy.com, and Buydig.com. Some will tell you if you ask if the product is a "Gray Market" item. I do not think those vendors sell Gray Market but I know that 86th Street Camera does.

I suspect that any information the Yahoo has about High Resolution Cams is fake so I am not sure if any of us will recover any funds.
