Consumer fraud false advertising ripoff Pasadena CA

Our family signed up for a Dish Network plan, which at first seemed to be a good deal. We were told that we would purchase a dish at a price of $209, but that this would be refunded at a rate of $17 a month for the first year of service. Ultimately, the plan advertised by the retailer promised a free dish, free installation, and a basic programming plan for $11 a month. We verified this numerous times with both the retailer and Dish Network.

Now Dish Network is insisting that they will not do this, despite the fact that I have saved several of these advertisements from both TV commercial and print ads. We are now forced to eat the cost of the satellite ($209) along with a monthly fee of $28. We've had the dish for less than a month, but neither the retailer nor Dish Network will live up to the plan we were promised.

Just a warning to everyone: Dish Networks programming is god-awful, overpriced, and their customer service is terrible. DO NOT PURCHASE A DISH OR PROGRAMMING PLAN FROM THIS COMPANY! They are blatantly lying to consumers, engaging in both false advertising and consumer fraud.

Also, we were not the only ones hoodwinked by this scheme. Several neighbors and acquaintances are having the same problems. Worst of all, my 78-year-old grandmother also purchased a dish and program plan believing it was a good deal. She lives on a limited income, but after investing this much money, changing plans is hardly and option at this point.
