Bait and Switch. Claimed "in stock" when not. Wanted to upsell. Cancelled order!

I wanted to purchase a digital camera. The best price I could find was at this company. (www.thedigitalnerds.com). I placed an order paying extra for the 3-day shipping option. A day after placing the order, I got an email saying that I needed to call the company to confirm the shipping address. Ok. I called them, and they asked if I'd like to buy a larger Memory Card and quoted me a high price. I politely said, "No, thank you". He then asked if I'd like to buy a better battery option, and again, I declined the offer. He then offered to make me a special deal on the extra items, and I again declined. Realizing that I only wanted the camera, he said, "Enjoy your camera" and abruptly hung up.

Four days later, I became suspicious, because I should have received the camera by then, so I sent an email asking for a tracking number. I got a response which said, "Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date, we have cancelled the order." SO, I called them on the phone, and the man answered, but as soon as he realized I was calling about my order, BAM, he just cut me off and routed me right to voice mail. I called back. They hung up on me!

NOW, if the product had been out of stock, why didn't they mention that to me when we confirmed the order over the phone? OR, why not drop me an email when they went to ship the item and realized it was out of stock? So basically, either they don't actually have these items in stock OR they will only honor their online prices if you purchase the high priced accessories OR, worse yet, you'd receive ONLY the high priced accessories and perhaps never get the camera, instead getting a refund for that item on your credit card.

So, the bottom line is... Beware. Do NOT deal with these crooks.
