Electronics and household app.
I purchased a Lowrance IWay 350i auto naigation unit from FotoConnection on 2.27.06 based upon their price being lowest from my web research.
The following day, I received a call asking if I would like their '3-year warranty' for 'only' $33. I declined.
Two hours later, I received another call, from a different 'closer' indicating I was to receive the 'import model with no warranty', but that I could 'upgrade' to a US model for only $20. I advised the caller the ad showed the unit came with a 1-year warranty and they would provide what they advertised at the price they listed and confirmed.
The caller finally consented to 'enter the order'; I called back later to confirm there would be no additional charges, which he confirmed.
When I received my credit card statement, FotoConnecion added $33 to the amount confirmed after placing the order. I placed the additional $33 charge into contest with the card provider.
FotoConnection has attempted to defraud me with product bait and switch and has made unauthorized charges to my credit card.
Too bad Charles Bronson is unavailable to provide adjudication.
