Black Hole of Authorized Repair ripoff

Electronics and household app.

I brought my Fujitsu laptop in to DataVision, as they are an authorized Fujitsu service center. They promised to fix the machine in "5 to 7 business days." (The store is open seven days a week.)

After the 7th day, I called. I've discovered that no matter what day you call, no matter what time you call, you must first listen to a female voice telling you that the store's normal business hours are Monday to Friday, please call back during that time — after that you get routed to someone who picks up anyway! What idiots. They put me through to Repair, who promptly put me on hold. Bounced me around and finally got back to me. They had trouble finding my computer.

Finally found it. Then told me the Fujitsu guy wasn't in, I'd have to call back the next day. I get the guy the next day. He says he has to get back to me. The following Saturday — consecutive day 13 or business day #10 — the tech calls me. Have I backed up my hard drive? It's defective, he tells me. Yes, it's backed up, go ahead. Should be ready during the week, he says.

I hear nothing back. The following Sunday I call. I get repair. I tell him I'm inquring about my laptop that's been there for over three weeks. "He asks me if I am [the company name appearing on caller ID]." I say yes. He puts me on hold without inquring as to my repair number or my name or my computer. After 20 minutes, I realize I've been had. I pick up and try again. This time whoever answers in Repair says, "We're closed today. You have to call back tomorrow."

These people simply waste so much of your time and energy. I thought I'd save time by not shipping the computer to Fujitsu. Meanwhile I cannot do my business, which depends on my ability to do presentations on the road with my laptop.

Datavision has just lost my business.
