Drone Jet Flies Backwards Uncontrollably In Hover Mode

The jet was provided as a Christmas gift. While using it in hover mode the jet would start to hover and then fly backwards regardless of the inputs as indicated in the user manual. As the problem got worse it would not hover, but as soon as power was increased the jet would take off and fly backwards at a high rate of speed, uncontrollably. Called the hot line and spoke to Adrian who attempted to talk me through a reboot and gyro correction which did not help. He advised I was within the time to make a claim.
