40' Television LCD panel needs replacement after 1,5 (out of warranty)

I bought Samsung 40' LED television 1,5 ago. Now it's out of warranty and a LCD panel needs to be replaced, that costs 450 pounds. I can buy a new television for those money. This is unacceptable, after such a short period it requiers such a serious repair. How low quality components Samsung uses for their products. Or maybe it's a new policy to increase sale, you are out of warranty, the repair cost fortune so you need to buy a new product. How disgusting is that. I am very disappointed.
