Samsung customer service is the worst I have ever experienced - Samsung galaxy 3 cell phone

Electronics and household app.

I purchased a new Galaxy 3 Smartphone and top of the line case protection three months ago for 500.00. Ten weeks later the phone would not turn on and I contacted them via web. I filled out the return request form in detail and tried to send it but as I had moved during the ten work interval between purchase and complete non function of the phone, I needed to change my address in order to do so but the site would not allow me to change it and I therefore had to call them instead, annoying and a waste of time. The first person I spoke with had a very heavy fairly, unintelligible accent and the call took forever to complete. I was to receive an RMA receipt via email "momentarily", it never came despite the fact that that I gave it to him my email address three separate times in the slowest, clearest language I could muster. Already beyond annoyed I waited until the next day to call again and this time the agent did speak English and I had the RMA in minutes. I sent the phone to Texas the next day. When the phone was returned to me a week later I didn't look at the paperwork and Just replaced the battery and plugged it in. On the next morning I went to turn it on it and got nothing, same as it was when I sent it in. I called back and the agent told me that my phone was a total loss and that the warranty was void because of abuse, I was livid and asked for a manager. I was kept on hold for 45 minutes and when he did come on he pretty much told me I was a lier and that Samsung would do absolutely nothing to help me, better luck next time. For the record, the phone had never been dropped, exposed to liquid or damaged in any form or fashion whatsoever. Further it had the best screen and case protection available and I was the only person who used it. The problem with the phone, it turns out, is that it will not charge because the "charging pad" was somehow disconnected from something else it needs connected to and therefore the phone cannot be charged. As I stated earlier, I was the only person who used the phone and there was never an occasion where the phone was subjected to any trauma. The phone was absolutely clean and had no physical flaws anywhere. Thus, this was a case of, at best, normal wear and tare or, my opinion, shoddy manufacturing. Bottom line, I spent way more money than I ever had on a phone from one of the largest manufactures of electronics in the world and they offered not so much as an apology, they disavowed any responsibility and did so with a curt, condescending attitude, horrible telephone etiquette and obvious distain. I will never, ever spend another dime on a Samsung product from this day forward and I urge anyone who may be reading this to do the same. The company policy is in stark contrast to my last issue of this type (with Apple) where they went out of thier way to repair my Macbook Pro and replace my iPod at no charge and In timely fashion.in fact, the lack of service rendered by Samsung was so egregious I was stunned and baffled but after looking around on the internet I have discovered that my case is far from isolated it seems to be the norm. Buyer beware.
