AIA Parents Beware Felons Living in Student Housing

Parents please beware when you send you children to the Art Institute of Atlanta. This school cares nothing about your child's well-being. The only thing that the Art Institute of Atlanta sees when they see your child is a dollar sign.

Two years ago my son was physically assaulted by his roommate. After my son underwent surgery and had to receive over 13 stitches, we were informed by the Solicitor's Office that my son's roommate was a convicted felon. The housing application even states all students must pass a clear criminal background check. The felon roommate later admitted that he went through a background check and that the housing directors of the Art Institute of Atlanta knew about his convictions, but wanted to give him a chance so they let him slide through.

The Art Institute of Atlanta neglected the safety of its' students by not following their own policies procedures. The Art Institute of Atlanta also failed to inform anyone that felons were allowed to live in student housing. As a result of this travesty, my son has permanent damage to his hand. To add insult to injury, the Art Institute of Atlanta has not even apologized to my son.in fact after the sentence that my son's roommate received, the Art Institute allowed my son's roommate to return to the school.

Please research you child's school of choice thoroughly and if your child attends the Art Institute of Atlanta, make sure they know that you do not want your child rooming with a convicted felon!
