Ripoff

I got a credit card from cross country bank in the mid 90's that I went delinquent. I talked to te people at camco to settle this account. They said if we send $420.00 that would settle my account as paid in full. Awhile later we called to tell them the money was sent over night mail. They said they received the money order and they were going to send me a letter via internet of paid in full.

Now they want another $343.00 to settle it. My wife said she talked to the people about the account when she was interrupted by a supervisior who told her she only talked to an operator. (C C.) was her name. My wife said she called back again and talked to a Tommy Williams. Who said to send them the $420.00 and my account would be paid in full.

What kind of ripoff is this. I would send the $343.00 but, I'm afraid to. They might say to send more after they receive it. Can't trust these people.
