Ripoff

I work a resort in Bolton Landing (upstate NY) as a bartender. On 4/19/04 I recieved a phone call from a man who went by the name of "Frankie", I'm pretty sure this was Barry. He asked me what I had been doing and how things were at the hotel. He also said that he tried to get a hold of me a couple days erlier in regards to a bet on a horse race.

He said that each time he and his wife were at the Sagamore they had a great time and that they always came to Mr. Browns (where I work) and enjoyed talking with me about the track. He said if I would like to get in on a bet that I could wire some money to his bookie in Boca Raton FL. He said he was so sure the his horse would win he would reimburse me the next day when he was supposed to fly up on a business meeting. Without thinking I agreed. To make a long story short on 4/19 I wired 540$ to a Barry Perlman in Boca Raton Fl Via Wester Union at the Topps Market in Bolton Landing.

The next day I recieved another phone call from Barry. He informed me that I had won $8766.00 the previsous night and that he was an hour and a half away. He also had another deal for me. He said the IRS would take 20% of the winnings but for a mere 5% his bookie could take care of the ticket. Again I wired Barry Perlman $250 to Boca Raton via western union at topps Market in Bolton Landing on 4/20.

After not hearing from "Frankie" I gave him call on his cell phone @ 954-793-5958. All I got was a voice mail from a man who went by the name of "Bear". Thats when I figured I got scammed so I did not want to jump to conclusions and accuse a guest of my Hotel of scamming me.

Today is 4/21 and once again I've tried to contact "Frankie" on his cell phone. Now I recieve a message that the number is no longer in service and I am sure this man was never a guest at the hotel.
